About The Author
Mark is a 30 year old dude who lives in Canada, even though he is actually from Cornwall, England. Most people assume he is Australian or, on St. Patrick’s day, Irish. Once he was asked on a bus in London if he was Romanian, but that was probably an anomaly. He has been updating Deed The Inky on an irregular basis since 2002.
About Deed The Inky
Deed The Inky was started in 2002, and was originally just a repository for a bunch of sketchbook drawings I had left over from University. There are a few archived versions of the site still floating around at Wayback Machine if you care to see them. The name Deed the Inky comes from a list of names I tried to come up with for a friend’s band. One of them was “The Inky Deeds”, which is a terrible name for a band but an okay name for a webcomic I thought. So it stuck.
Deed The Inky is made using as much Open Source software as possible; Cartoons are drawn in The GIMP, the site runs on WordPress with Comicpress installed, HTML and PHP is coded in Quanta Plus and then uploaded with Filezilla. All of this stuff is running under Linux Mint 8.
Using Deed The Inky Cartoons
It’s basically the standard webcomic thing – they are for sharing, so if you want to post them on your Myspace or Facebook or wherever, go ahead and thow ‘em up there. If you want to use them for anything printed, that is okay too… if it’s something non-profit (like student papers etc.) then go right ahead. All I ask is that you attribute it to deedtheinky.com and if you could let me know about it too that would be sweet. If it’s for profit, send me an e-mail and we can work something out!
