This is a truth fact. I guess the cavaliers were just going for a “don’t screw with us no more” vibe, but if you ask me it just comes off as retarded. Cromwell was kind of a dick about it too though, so who knows.
Oddly though, this wasn’t a heat-of-the-moment type of thing. Cromwell died in 1658, and they dug him up two years later. His head was displayed on a pole until 1685. They didn’t bury the head again until 1960.
